BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Sport

Throughout this one year BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Sport course, you can expect to lead and coach groups in a variety of fitness and sports based sessions. You will also learn vital leadership skills, basic human anatomy, physiology, lifestyle and well-being issues and much more. You will gain knowledge, skills and understanding through practical participation and performance in a range of sports, exercise, and health related fitness activities.

Who is this course for? Our BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Sport is aimed at those wanting to enhance their knowledge and experience in sport.

Entry Requirements – 4 GCSE’s at grade A* to D or a Level 1 Certificate in Sport. A good, positive attitude is essential, along with the passion to work to hard and the willingness to take part in all sports. We also require a suitable reference.

Football and Sports Coaching
At Boston United Sports College, students will have the opportunity to receive professional football coaching, or coaching in a variety of sports.

Male students who have a keen interest in football and improving their football career will have the opportunity to train and play with our Development Squads and Under-21s (depending on their age), with the overall aim to one day play with Boston United’s first team.

Female students who enjoy playing football will also have the opportunity to train and play with our dedicated Ladies Team as part of our Girls Regional Talent Club.

Possible careers on completion – Gym Instructor, Assistant Sports Coach, Personal Trainer, Recreation Assistant.

Progression – Level 3 Qualifications – BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport (Performance & Excellence) is available at Boston United Sports College.
