Learning Disability Programme
Since 2006, United in the Community has been delivering opportunities for children and adults with disabilities to play sport. The programme has worked in various schools in South Lincolnshire; and with further support from various funders we have been able to stage a variety of sessions.
Our disability programme currently works with various individuals and organisations to deliver sports activities to people with mental and physical disabilities. We also deliver multi sport activities at Linkage College, Toynton All Saints and The Wednesday Club in Boston through our Active Pilgrims programme.
Currently, over 100 people access our disability sessions every week. To help encourage even more people to participate, we established PAN disability groups that allow players with different disabilities to play as one team under the Positive Pilgrims banner. We currently have 3 PAN Disability teams that play in the Lincolnshire PAN Disability league. Our disability football team has previously won the FA Northern Area Final, reaching the inaugural FA Disability Cup Final. The PAN disability squads at Boston United include players with poor mental health, visual impairments, downs syndrome, cerebral palsy, learning difficulties and hearing impairments. The teams train every week in Boston, and is delivered by our team of qualified coaches.
We hold weekly multi sport and football sessions for people with a disability, which are listed below. For more information, or to get involved please contact Lewis Wright on 01205 364406 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
