Boston United Youth Team

The United in the Community / Boston United Football Club Youth Team took their place in the Puma Football League Youth Alliance ahead of the 2004-2005 season. When the club was relegated from the Football League in 2007, the Youth Team continued to play in the Puma Youth Alliance for a couple more seasons before linking up with the Football Conference Youth Alliance where they have remained ever since.

The Youth Team currently play in Division C of the set-up in 2015-2016 and are led by first team assistant manager, Martyn Bunce. They also compete in the prestigious FA Youth Cup, alongside the Youth Alliance League Cup and the Midland Youth Cup. The Youth Team enjoyed their best-ever FA Youth Cup run in 2011-2012, winning six matches en route to a third round encounter at The Jakemans Stadium against Championship side Burnley.

The team is made up primarily of youngsters enrolled on our education courses at The Jakemans Stadium, but also includes others who are still in full-time education at other local schools and colleges.

The Youth Team set-up is fed by the club’s long-running Centre of Excellence and strives to provide the best quality elite footballers in the local area to ultimately play for the first team in Vanarama National League North.

Thirty youngsters, from 2004 onwards, have gone one to make at least one competitive first team appearance in league or cup action.
