In recent years we have introduced Cheerleading in to our Schools and Education programme, which has been hugely successful and is continuing to expand.
As a result we have been able to set up and establish the United Cheer Team, a club for all age groups and abilities so they can access professional Cheerleading provision out of school hours. We are also able to offer a variety of cheerleading provisions for your school, including:
- Cheerleading Workshops that are different each week
- After school Club where participants will be able to learn a routine broken down over the term with a chant
- Lunchtime Club, which is a simple fun session for a set age group
Cheerleading is a unique athletic discipline, also known as “The Sport of Smiles” and this is the feeling children get when they participate. It is fun, filled with lots of high energy. It is equally popular with girls and boys and gives children team bonding skills and encourages them to raise their own confidence.
We currently have qualified UKCA and BGU coaches level 3+ for the following skills – Stunts, Tumbling, Tosses and Dance.
Our Early Years and Keystages 1-4 cheerleading classes incorporate all the elements of cheerleading including cheers, chants, cheer arm motions, pom dance, cheer jumps, and all levels of basic cheer skills. Cheer stunts including lifts and pyramids can be delivered at certain sessions depending on equipment. Chants and cheers can also be adapted to include the individual school name or team and can be used at school sporting events.
The children can also work towards gaining their Spirit Awards, where the group have a set number of weeks to learn moves, cheers and chants. On the final week, the group will do a performance where they receive their certificate of achievement.
